This CEU will seek to educate specifiers on the evolution of outdoor spaces across a variety of vertical markets, exploring the importance of connection to nature for our health and wellbeing. We’ll look at inspiring ways to incorporate smart material choices as well as innovative design ideas that help draw people to the exterior spaces that help them feel most engaged and connected to nature and each other.

This course will delve into the history of the last 70 years of office design, how we got to this place in time, and what steps designers can take to understand the science behind privacy. If you’ve ever wondered how to inspire and motivate the next generation of the workforce and are desperate to find a way to get their headphones off and their collaboration skills “on,” then this course was made for you.

Identify the largest sources of unwanted noise and ways to combat them by becoming familiar with research on noise levels and the effect it has on human performance. This CEU will help you understand the basics of sound design and available solutions that can be included in their overall design by understanding tthe options available for sounds masking and sound absorption during and post construction implementation.

Teak – Sustainable, Strong & Stylish | 1 CEU Credit
Presented by Jennie Harper-Hancock | Building 1, Floor 5, 5E1 & 5E2
Teak is elegant and durable and makes great-looking furniture. In this one-hour course you will discover the unique properties of teak and important factors to consider when assessing quality teak furniture. This presentation will explain the growth process of plantation teak trees and various programs designed to conserve and develop this important natural resource. In addition, we will assess design considerations and the cleaning and maintenance of teak furniture. We will conclude with a question and answer session.
CEU sessions will take place in the showrooms on Floor 5.

Building 1, Floor 5, Commercial Design Lounge.
